Not many people are born with 'property practitioner' in their DNA... but by the tender age of 16 I had written the EAAB board exam and was South Africa's youngest registered estate agent.
My first showday was non-event. The boards were up early, the advert looked great and the house was perfectly priced. Not one visitor. I fled to university. Shortly afterwards, under the watchful guidance of Jim and Betty Otter (aka Mum and Dad), results started to happen. Over 35 years later and with more than 3 000 successful sales, that bleak beginning is a distant memory.
In 2001, I moved Otter Estates into our current permises, affectionally known as Otter's Corner. From here we continue to service the real estate needs of the greater Lonehill community. Often entertaining residents with our colourful banners, displays and giveways.
Almost 40 years old, Otter Estates is still a family business at heart. Recently we updated our marketing image to 'mirror nature in our committment to you'. We take our name to heart, embodying the personlity of the otter in every aspect of our service to you. I call it 'Real Estate The Otter Way!"
